Who can forget George W’s almost comical remark about Osama bin Laden in the wake of the tragic events of 9/11: “There’s an old poster out west, as I recall, that said ‘Wanted, dead or alive’”? But few probably know what Osama bin Laden reportedly stated about who was responsible for the 9/11 tragedy:
“There exists a government within the government of the United States. That secret government must be asked as to whom carried out these attacks. The U.S. should trace the perpetrators of those attacks to these persons who want to make the present century one of their own control, who want to enslave other countries.”
Bin Laden, a CIA asset used in Afghanistan in the proxy war against Russia, was perhaps referring to the neoconservatives – in particular, Dick Cheney, Donald Rumsfeld, and Paul Wolfowitz who were looking for a “new Pearl Harbor” event upon which to launch their The New American Century of full spectrum world dominance under the guise of a ‘war against terror’.
The Italian documentary The New American Century (at the end of this article) exposes this neoconservative cabal and gives an historical perspective to the lead-up to 9/11 through the lies America has told its people in order to wage various wars over the past century. It clearly shows the fear connection between the Cold War propaganda of a Russian attack using atomic bombs and the new terrorist threat planted in the minds of Americans on 9/11. Lastly, and this was the most distressing part for me, it shows the carnage in Iraq of the war waged against it for WMDs that it didn’t have, and the connection to corporations who stood to make huge profits from this war.
Peter Dale Scott revealed in his book, The Road to 9/11, that a secret government group does indeed exist, known as the Continuity of Government (COG), which was set up in the 1950s under president Truman. The Pentagon calls it “the Doomsday Project,” as its purpose is for planning a “response to a crippling atomic attack that had decapitated government.”
What is important to understand about the COG is that it has access to, and control of, a secret communications channel that is not under government control. Peter Dale Scott suggests that…
a very small group had access to a high-level secret network outside government review, in order to implement a program in opposition to government policy. They succumbed to the temptation to use this secure network that had been designed for other purposes. …[T]his secure network was used…on 9/11, to implement key orders for which the 9/11 Commission could find no records. Whether it was also used for illicit purposes is not known.
“Team B” was a small group formed by President Gerald Ford at the insistence of Donald Rumsfeld, then Secretary of Defense with Dick Cheney as Ford’s Chief of Staff. Rumsfeld was successful in enlarging the appearance of Russia as an enemy by drumming out the same old message during the Cold War:
“The Soviet Union has been busy. They’ve been busy in terms of their level of effort, they’ve been busy in terms of the actual weapons that they’ve been producing, they’ve been busy in terms of expanding productions rates, they’ve been busy in terms of expanding their institutional capability to produce additional weapons at additional rates, they’ve been busy in terms of expanding their capability to increasingly improve the sophistication of those weapons. Year after year after year they’ve been demonstrating that they have steadiness of purpose, that they’re purposeful about what they’re doing.”
Although the intelligence did not back up Rumsfeld’s claims, he convinced President Ford to form an independent group to reexamine all the information the CIA had gathered about the Russians from the beginning. “Team B” was put under the direction of the neoconservative, Richard Pipes, who brought in Paul Wolfowitz, author of what became known as The Wolfowitz Doctrine. Wolfowitz was Deputy Secretary of Defense during 9/11 under Rumsfeld.
“Team B’s true purpose was to manipulate the CIA’s original intelligence with the intent of presenting the Soviet Union as a truly evil nation, equipped with the most powerful secret technology whose only intent was to annihilate the United States.” (The New America Century)
What the neoconservatives wanted was full-spectrum world dominance; to make the twenty-first century an “American Century” by whatever means necessary. And this was spelt out in Wolfowitz’s Doctrine shortly after the Soviet collapse. It forms the basis of US foreign and military policy. It states:
Our first objective is to prevent the re-emergence of a new rival, either on the territory of the former Soviet Union or elsewhere, that poses a threat on the order of that posed formerly by the Soviet Union. This is a dominant consideration underlying the new regional defense strategy and requires that we endeavor to prevent any hostile power from dominating a region whose resources would, under consolidated control, be sufficient to generate global power.
This was the real reason behind American attacks on Iraq and Syria, and why they want to go after Iran: these countries are what Paul Wolfowitz referred to as the “old Soviet client regimes.” With these countries destroyed the neoconservatives can then go after Russia, only Russia saw this coming and took urgent steps to build up its defenses and attack capabilities, which it announced on 01 March this year. It was a “policy coup” the neoconservatives succeeded in pulling off after 9/11.
On September 11, 2001 the COG plan was implemented for the first time by Vice President Dick Cheney, and Secretary of Defense Donald Rumsfeld. The hand Cheney and Rumsfeld played in the 9/11 attacks and the war on Iraq is explored in Massimo Mazzucco’s documentary The New American Century:The Secret Plan for World Domination, available on DVD. You can also view it below or on Vimeo.
Before watching the documentary, consider the words spoken by Nazi leader, Hermann Goering, at the Nuremberg Trials after World War II:
“Why of course the people don’t want war. Why should some poor slob on a farm want to risk his life in a war when the best he can get out of it is to come back to his farm in one piece? Naturally, the common people don’t want war: neither in Russia, nor in England, nor for that matter in Germany. That is understood. But after all it is the leaders of the country who determine the policy, and it is always a simple matter to drag the people along, whether it is a democracy, or a fascist dictatorship, or a parliament, or a communist dictatorship… Voice or no voice, the people can always be brought to the bidding of the leaders. That is easy. All you have to do is to tell them they are being attacked, and denounce the pacifists for lack of patriotism and exposing the country to danger.”

Video: Major General Stubblebine said of the attacks on 9/11 that he was: “…so ingrained in my belief system that I could not believe…that anybody except a sort of…Arab terrorist could do something like that.” And then one day he saw a photograph of the hole in the Pentagon…
